Lilly is going to have surgery on her vocal cords and larinax on Tuesday. She was born with a cyst on her larinax and her vocal cords are not split like they should be.

She is beautiful.

hootie and the blowfish

roughly 10 or 11 years ago, my friend derek and i went to see hootie & the blowfish in nashville at the starlight amphitheatre (i think). granted, at the time i was roughly 12 or 13 years old and hootie & the blowfish were at the top of the charts.

they were my first concert. and probably still my best one. it rained like hell that night and people were mud sliding down the hills beside the stage. darius was slugging beers on stage and people were going crazy. the amphitheatre was filled.

tonight, my age is starting to show. i counted at least two handfuls of grandmothers and the very small Midland Center for the Arts (2,000 capacity, i'm guessing) had several empty rows in the back. and the crowd was barely swaying, if at all head nodding.

but, the band seemed to have fun. what could be more fun than traveling around with your buddies playing music? anyway, take a peek.

after tonight, i'm thinking there's gonna be a hootie & the blowfish playlist on my ipod. if i can only find those damn cd's.
