self-deprecation

i had to pull these out of the vault. i may regret it later.

in the winter, i decided it would be a great idea to stop shaving (mostly) and stop cutting my hair (mostly). after 30 days of no shaving (i know, i thought i would have more facial hair) i decided to shave off my stuff. also, i couldn't stop touching my face and licking the corner of my lips. facial hair feels really...interesting.

having never grown my facial fuzz that much, i figured it was worth documenting the occasion. check me out ladies.

the regular mustache. i thought about standing near a playground full of kids to see how long it would be before the dirty man mustache got me arrested. i opted not to try.



mustache and goatee all gone. one day i'll be able to grow a real fine goatee. watch out!

1 year of blogging

it's official. i've been blogging for over a year now. let's celebrate with some pictures from the fair the other night.

the spinner mathingy was getting more traffic than the ferris wheel.



i never knew you could cross breed a horse and a donkey. i just thought a mule was another name for a donkey. the dictionary says mules are typically "beasts of burden" because they're sterile and aren't good for much.



someone dropped their bear and now it's all shredded up and gutted. it reminded me of coury's niece losing her nap bear somewhere on the way to florida.

it's called flying start. it was a debate about aspects of horse breeding at keeneland. pretty interesting stuff actually.

gburg

spent the last few days in gburg, tn. shooting a national dance competition.

16 hour days and five hours of sleep add up so today was a rest day.

here's a run down.

i had a hell of a good time with these guys and rick, who i don't a picture of. we worked hard and played fairly hard. my advice to anyone visiting gatlinburg: go to pucker's bar and wait for something crazy to happen. in two visits to the bar the cops showed up twice, the ambulance showed up once and the bar was shut down and fined for serving a toothless lady past the point of intoxication. she later stumbled up the stairs leading out of the bar to smash the bridge of her nose on a stone wall. she bled so much that i couldn't watch.

vaca catch up

things have been crazy with me on vacation with coury and making sure coury had a great birthday. here's the rundown.

fast forward to coury's birthday. i took her to natural bridge. the view was pretty dern nice.

hiatus

thanks for all the job well wishers. warm thoughts have been sent your way. still looking for jobs as the central ky freelance market is not as lucrative as i thought.

after three hard days and one all nighter, hunter wilson and myself dropped my new website. hunter basically saved me after i made a dinky website in comparison to his masterpiece. many thanks to hunter.

i pulled an all nighter trying to get a new website together. though i'm stuck at about 97% complete, my reward was seeing a crazybeautiful foggy sunrise atop scott's ridge this morning with coury. she was a good sport and got out of bed to tag along. i may post more later but i'm still trying to decide if i like the bw or color version better. i do know that i need to learn more about toning. any advice?

blue moon on a summer day

i couldn't resist shooting some pics of my blue moon 'honey moon summer ale' this evening as a dreary day turned into a nice sunset.

i'm a huge fan of blue moon. i'm not entirely sure how i feel about honey moon summer ale yet, but i don't think it will make the favorites list.

i helped clay shoot a wedding again this weekend. this is his idea. he shot low and i shot high.

sunday driver

3 HR's in 3 at bats

senior kristen zutterman blasted 3 HR's in 3 at bats in the semi final game of the 5th Region tournament. down 6-3, she hit a two run shot to bring her team within one run. her team later tied it at the last possible moment, in the bottom of the seventh inning. her third home run of the night (why the other team didn't walk her, i have no idea) came in the ninth inning, the score still knotted at six. she blasted over centerfield, leading to this moment when her teammates surrounded her and thanked her for keeping their season alive.
